Prepare for Spring 2022!
On Monday, January 10th from 1-2:15 PM, IMATS will offer an "Introduction to CourseWorks" virtual session, to provide an overview and answer questions about the fundamentals of CourseWorks in preparation for virtual and in-person learning in the spring semester. From the fundamentals of course organization to efficient grading techniques, this introductory session will equip participants with CourseWorks tools for teaching in changing modalities.
On Tuesday, January 11th from 1-2:15 PM, the CEP will offer a hands-on "Teaching Modularly in CourseWorks" virtual session, where CEP staff will describe the benefits of modular teaching and learning, which enables flexible course design for changing teaching modalities. Participants will see examples of Barnard courses utilizing the modules feature in CourseWorks, and then craft a plan to update their courses based on examples. CEP staff will provide a course template for participants to adopt or adapt.
**All faculty are welcome to attend both sessions, but if you are new to CourseWorks, we recommend that faculty attend the "Introduction to CourseWorks" session prior to attending the "Teaching Modularly" session.
In addition to the sessions above, faculty are also welcome to attend virtual CourseWorks and Zoom Office Hours with IMATS and the CEP from 1-3 PM on January 12th, 13th, and 14th to ask questions about CourseWorks and Zoom functionality or work on updates to their courses in a supportive space. Participants are welcome to join alone or with peers.
To sign up for any of these offerings, please RSVP.
