Elana Altman
I manage and support technology services that relate to teaching, learning, and research, with a particular eye toward UX design and digital accessibility. This includes leading our support for CourseWorks (Canvas), Zoom, and other educational technologies; piloting and assessing new software; designing web projects in collaboration with instructors; teaching workshops on web design; and creating technology-based services for Barnard Library, amongst other projects.
My focus is on creating seamless, straightforward, and accessible user experiences. I'm always happy to chat about new collaborations and ideas, so please feel free to reach out to me at ealtman@barnard.edu.
Before joining Barnard, I held a variety of creative and strategic roles within the media and publishing industries. From designing a digital almanac for Scholastic to researching internet readership trends at the Associated Press, my background has given me a broad understanding of how people use the internet to understand the world around them. I have a BA from Wellesley, and an MBA from Vanderbilt.
